CATs in Conversation is an open and informal get-together for anyone interested in the arts, in health, wellbeing, community or education. This diverse group meets regularly to share information, discuss pressing topics, provide mentorship for trainee arts therapists, and provide social and professional support for trainee, graduate and professional arts therapists or anyone interested in the arts.

Brisbane

BrizCATs is a network of Creative Arts Therapists and Practitioners in the Brisbane and surrounding districts. We are creative arts therapists and practitioners who use multi-modal, experiential arts approaches to the exploration of meanings and the choices for action. This voluntary network offers spaces for collaborative professional reflection and support through open dialogue and sharing.

Footscray (CATs Out West) A self-directed peer support group, open for sharing. Engaging with a variety of creative processes and inclusive range of modalities and paradigms.  There is a gold coin donation to cover costs. The Body Voice Centre is a great space, generously made available by John Howard and Michelle Fox.

Regional Victoria

Geelong CATs

The Geelong CATs is a network of Creative Arts Therapists in the Geelong, Greater Geelong, Bellarine, and Surfcoast area.  We are practitioners and trainees who are interested in utilising various creative arts techniques in our practice.  The group encourages members to facilitate a topic, activity or discussion to both broaden our working knowledge of various techniques and to provide a sounding board and reflective peer supervision process. There is a small cost to cover materials etc of $10.

GRAT Group of Regional Arts Therapists GRAT is a support group for Professional Arts Therapists Registered with ANZATA/ACATA, or Arts Therapists who are in the process of registering. GRAT pro-vides a way for Arts Therapists to exchange professional knowledge and share expertise. GRAT focusses on the theoretical side of Arts Therapy and further professional development for Arts Therapists. There is a $5.00 fee for members.

PENCATS – Peninsula Arts Therapists Group We meet on a monthly basis to provide support to each other, share ideas, facilitate groups, etc. We meet on Saturdays between 10am and noon and vary our venues as there is a wide stretch of “homes” we have down here so try to offer a venue to be close to each of our members/participants.
